MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (March 13) – Senior point guard
Hannah Hunter recently added another impressive award to her growing cache of accolades on Tuesday. The Yellow Jacket standout was lauded by D3Hoops.com as a member of its All-Great Lakes Region Team.
Hunter snags the award after a truly remarkable senior season. The Hopewell native finished the 2011-12 season as Waynesburg's leader in assists (5.3 apg) and steals (2.9 spg), while also ranking second in points (13.5 ppg) and fifth in rebounds (5.2 rpg). Hunter also finished the season ranked second in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in assists and steals, and seventh in scoring on her way to first-team All-PAC laurels.
The four-year starter also pulled in a handful of weekly accolades. Hunter was a three-time PAC Player of the Week, more than any other individual in the conference, and a two-time member of the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week. After four stellar years with the Yellow Jackets, Hunter will leave the team as its all-time leader in career assists (457) and as a member of its 1,000 career-point club (1,144).
