MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Jan. 21) – The Waynesburg University track & field team competed at the State Farm Games on Saturday, which were hosted by West Virginia University.
The Yellow Jacket men were led by sophomore
Justin Angotti, who set a new school record in the men's 400 meters (52.71 seconds), and freshman
Lorenzo Mikulin, who did the same in the men's 500 meters, which he won with a time of 1:11.08. The Waynesburg women featured a school record performance in the 500 meters, which came courtesy of freshman
Kristen Sanders in 1:26.32.
Other strong showing from the Jacket tracksters were put in by sophomore
Bre Paul, who won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:40.83; freshman Alex Sherman, who won the 1,000 meters with a time of 4:06.65; sophomore
Andy Armor, who placed second in the shot put (13.25 meters); sophomore
Matt Giardina, who placed second in the 3,000-meter run (10:18.18) and junior
Jaimee Post, who finished second in the triple jump (9.83 meters)
Waynesburg will continue the indoor portion of its season on Saturday, Feb. 11, when the Yellow Jackets return to Morgantown to compete in the WVU Blue-Gold Meet.
