WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 10) – The Waynesburg University cross country team held its annual invitational at the Greene County Airport under sunny skies on Saturday.
The Yellow Jacket men placed fifth out of the eight teams competing and were led by freshman
Brandon Dugan, who finished 16
th in the 96-man field with a time of 29:10. Sophomore
Justin Angotti followed with a time of 29:43.8 (24
th place) and classmate
Jonathan Blatt crossed the finish line in 29:49.2, which placed him 25
th overall. Waynesburg's top five was completed by freshmen Elliott Haire and
John Allison.
Muskingum took the team title and was followed by Grove City and Geneva, which placed second and third, respectively. Individual medalist honors went to Washington & Jefferson's Scott Ryan, who finished the race in 26:41.4. Geneva's Nick Edinger and Muskingum's Tyler Smith rounded out the top three in second and third place, respectively.
The Yellow Jacket men's next race is scheduled for Sept. 24 at the Dickinson Invitational.
