CINCINNATI, Ohio (April 9) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team pulled out a thrilling Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory at Thomas More on Saturday.
The match, which was played at the Western Hills Racquet Club in Cincinnati, came down to the number-six singles match, which the Yellow Jackets (3-4, 2-1) won by forfeit. It was the second forfeit that the Saints (2-7, 2-4) were forced to concede on the day. Their first came at number-three doubles. The two teams split the contested doubles matches, with Waynesburg's
Jason Logan and
Jon Anderson triumphing by the final score of 8-3 at second doubles.
Thomas More picked up wins at first and second singles, but Waynesburg rebounded with victories at the number-three and number-four slots. Logan battled to a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win at third singles over Ben Millman, before Anderson took down Gabe Measner 6-3, 6-2. Sophomore
Joe Kromer picked up the match-clinching forfeit. He was also part of the forfeit at third doubles.
The Jackets are back in action on Monday, April 11, when they host Saint Vincent for another PAC match. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
