KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Dec.12) – Waynesburg University senior women's soccer player
Courtney Ebersole recently added another award to her personal collection after an outstanding 2011 season.
Ebersole was named a first-team selection to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2011 NCAA Women's Division III All-Great Lakes Team for 2011. This marks Ebersole's second-straight season on the all-region team after being picked as a third-team selection in 2010.
The East Berlin, Pa. native picked up the award after finishing the year ranked first in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in total points (33) and tied for first in goals (13). Her seven assists were also good enough to tie her for fifth place in the conference. For her efforts, Ebersole also picked up her second-straight first-team All-PAC honor. Ebersole ends her Waynesburg career with some very impressive numbers. Over four years, number 10 piled up 101 career points on 43 goals and 15 assists.
Thanks in part to the standout forward's work, the Yellow Jacket women are coming off one of the finest seasons in program history, which included a 15-5-1 overall record, a 5-3-1 PAC mark and a berth in the conference playoffs for the first time since 2005. After making the conference playoffs, Waynesburg knocked off three-time defending champion W&J 1-0 to reach the championship game against Thomas More.
