Women's cross country concludes season at regional meet

Sophomore Bre Paul puts together strong performance at season-concluding race

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (Nov. 12) – The Waynesburg University women's cross country team wrapped up the 2011 season on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships. The event was hosted by DeSales University.
 
The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore standout Bre Paul, who placed a team-best 48th out of the 335-woman field after crossing the finish line with a time of 24:27. Freshman Joy Talbott just missed out on a top-100 finish with a time of 25:32, good for 101st place. Waynesburg's top three was rounded out by sophomore Tiffany Onifer, who placed 159th with a time of 26:19.
 
Individual medalist honors went to Dickinson sophomore Taylor Ludman, who broke the tape in 22:33. She edged out Franklin & Marshall junior Sheena Crawley, who placed second with a time of 22:34, and Carnegie Mellon junior Emily Wobb, who finished in third place with a time of 22:38.
 
Waynesburg placed 28th in the 47-team women's field. Johns Hopkins took home the team title after claiming three top-10 spots. The Blue Jays were followed by Dickinson in second place and Elizabethtown rounded out the top three team spots in third place.
