WEXFORD, Pa. (June 4) – The Waynesburg University softball and men's track & field teams were both recently honored by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) for their outstanding conduct and composure in the field of competition.
Both squads were recognized as 2010 Spring PAC Team Sportsmanship Award winners. The award is sponsored by the members of the PAC Student-Athlete-Advisory Council (SAAC), in an effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among the conference teams. The SAAC is a committee comprised of student-athletes from each member institution assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience.
The two spring sports join the Yellow Jacket wrestling team as 2009-10 honorees. It is the first time for each spring sport to receive the honor over the two years that the conference has given out the sportsmanship awards. Waynesburg was the only member of the PAC to win multiple sportsmanship awards for the spring season.
