WEXFORD, Pa. (June 25) – A total of 40 Waynesburg University student-athletes were honored as members of the Spring 2010 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll, which was recently released by the conference office. The list honors both winter and spring athletes from this past school year.

Men’s track & field and women’s basketball led the way with seven honorees each, while men’s basketball and baseball followed closely behind with six members of their respective teams earning academic laurels. Women’s track & field and softball boasted five honorees a piece, wrestling followed with four, while men’s tennis and men’s golf rounded out the group with one honoree each.

Junior Elisha Jones and freshman Kurt Bonnet both earned the honor of being two-sport athletes on the list. Each participated, and saw extensive live competition, in both basketball and track & field.

Combined with the 49 Fall honorees, Waynesburg saw a total of 89 student athletes listed on the 2009-10 PAC Academic Honor Rolls, which was the highest full-year total amongst the 10 conference members. In order to qualify for the award, a student-athlete must have maintained a 3.6 GPA throughout their respective season.

Conference-wide, 328 student-athletes received the spring academic honor. Westminster sported a PAC-best 53 honorees. For a complete look at the Spring 2010 PAC Academic Honor Roll, click here.
