White earns all-region honors from ABCA

Senior second baseman makes it three straight years on squad

ALLIANCE, Ohio (May 24) – For a third-straight season, Waynesburg second baseman Wes White Jr was named to the All-Mideast Region Baseball Teams by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

White was named a third-team selection to the squad. He was a second-team pick in 2009 and a first-team honoree in 2008.

White not only led the Jackets in virtually every offensive category, he was also one of the best hitters in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). He led the conference in on-base percentage (.579) and walks (32), while also ranking in the top 10 in batting average (.436, 4th), slugging percentage (.684, 7th), runs scored (56, 2nd), triples (5, 2nd) and stolen bases (18, 4th). At the end of the regular season, his on-base percentage had him ranked sixth in Division III, while his 1.56 runs scored per game was good for 11th.

White is the first Jacket to earn the all-region laurels three years in a row.

White was one of nine players from a PAC school to make this year's ABCA All-Mideast Region Teams. For a complete look at all of this year's honorees, click here.
