Men's golf hits the links at Thiel Invitational

GREENVILLE, Pa. (April 17) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team finished in fifth place out of seven schools playing in the Thiel College Invitational at the Greens at Greenville on Saturday.

 

Seniors Josh Mollica and Ryan Work led the Yellow Jackets by both carding a team-best 85 on the day. Juniors Kyle Kyper and Kevin McIlwain added scores of 89 and 88, respectively, to the Yellow Jackets' four-man total of 347.

 

Grove City's Will Moyer earned individual medalist honors after firing a 76. The Grove City Wolverines also picked up the team title after putting up a team score of 331. Westminster placed second with a 334 and Point Park rounded out the top three team finishers with a 335.

 

The Jackets are scheduled to return to action on April 19 and 20, when they compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships. The event will be held at the Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa.
