Rain washes out Friday games for baseball and softball
Inclement weather brings Florida trips to premature ends
WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 12) – Poor weather conditions in the state of Florida have affected most, if not all, of today’s Waynesburg University scheduled baseball and softball games.
The baseball team’s doubleheader with Oneonta State (N.Y.) has been cancelled by the weather, but the Yellow Jackets are working on scheduling a nine-inning game on Saturday against Bethany Lutheran (Minn.) before returning north to the state of Pennsylvania.
The softball team’s game against Regis College (Mass.) has already been cancelled, and prospects for their matchup against Benedictine University (Ill.) are not good as the afternoon goes on.
After coming back from rainy Florida, the Waynesburg baseball team returns to action on Friday, March 26, when they play their first game on their new field against Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Thiel. The Jacket women of the diamond will also get back into action with a home date. They will host Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 20.
