The Fighting Scots won by the final score of 5-4, dropping the Jackets' season record to 1-6.
Waynesburg jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after a double by junior Rob Cool Jr plated senior Wes White Jr and sophomore Corey Goeggelman. Cool later scored on a sacrifice fly.
Gordon responded with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the first inning. However, Waynesburg was able to tie the game up at 4-4 in the top of the seventh, but The Fighting Scots jumped in front for good on a run in the bottom of the fourth, which was the final tally of the contest.
The Jackets had several run-scoring opportunities as the game went on, but Gordon was able to wriggle out of danger each time.

Game two of the scheduled double-header was cancelled due to inclement weather conditions.
The Jackets wrap up the RussMatt Baseball 2010 Central Florida Invitational on Friday, when they face off against Oneonta State in a double header. First pitch will be at 11 a.m., weather permitting.
