KISSIMMEE, Fla. (March 10) – The Waynesburg University softball team dropped a pair of games at the Rebel Games on Wednesday.

The Yellow Jackets were handed an 8-0 loss in the opening game of the morning against the University of Dubuque. Junior Amanda Baughman was dealt the loss. Offense continues to be an issue for the Lady Jackets as they only ended up with two hits in the game.

Game two didn’t go much better for Waynesburg, as they fell by the final of 12-2 to Adrian College.

The Jackets scored their only runs of the day in the bottom of the first inning. Sophomore outfielder Brittany Lyle started the frame with a walk. Baughman hammered a pitch to the left field fence and ended up at second with a double while Lyle was held at third.

After freshman third baseman Lizz Bombara drew a walk to load the bases, fellow freshman Annastasia Hartnett drilled a pitch to left center with two outs on the board that drove in a pair.

Junior pitcher Kristen Lautenschlager took the loss in the pitching circle.

With the losses, Waynesburg drops to 1-5 on the season.

Waynesburg will continue their Rebel Games schedule Thursday afternoon with a matchup against Emmanuel College at 1 p.m. and at 3 p.m. versus Ursinus College.
