Jones and Hunter named All-PAC

Junior forward picks up second-team honor, sophomore guard tabbed as honorable mention

WEXFORD, Pa. (Feb. 26) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team saw two of its own earn the honor of being named to the All Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Basketball teams.

 

Junior forward Elisha Jones was named a second-team selection for the second-straight year. Sophomore point guard Hannah Hunter picked up her first all-conference nod as an honorable mention selection.

 

Jones ended the 2009-10 season ranked fifth in the PAC in scoring and was the Yellow Jackets' top scorer after putting up 12.9 points per game. She also averaged 4.9 rebounds per game and ranked third in the PAC with 1.46 blocked shots per game, which was the top average on the Jackets. Jones ended the year with 903 collegiate points.

 

Hunter ended the 2009-10 campaign as the PAC's leader in assists per game. The Hopewell native dished out an average of 3.72 helpers per contest, and totaled a conference-best 93 total assists. She also led the team and ranked sixth in the PAC in free throw percentage (.790). Her 1.26 assist-to-turnover ratio placed her second in the conference and first on the team.

 

Washington & Jefferson senior point guard Kennan Killeen was named 2010 PAC Player of the Year. Thomas More's Brian Neal was named PAC Coach of the Year.

The Yellow Jackets ended the season with a 9-17 overall record and a 5-9 mark in PAC play.
