Trio of Jacket gridders honored by D3Football.com

Adam Moses receives first-team all-region accolades; Moore and Hunt tabbed third team

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Dec. 9) – Sophomore tight end Adam Moses led a group of three Waynesburg football players that were honored on the D3football.com 2010 All-South Region Team.

 

Moses was honored as a first-team pick after enjoying a breakout season in which he led the Yellow Jackets in catches (37) and touchdown catches (7), while also racking up 431 yards receiving. The Fairview Park, Ohio native was also honored as a first-team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) pick.

 

Waynesburg also boasted a pair of third-team selections on the defensive side of the ball. Defensive tackle #Darryl Moore, Jr. and cornerback Sean Hunt# both received the honor after leading the Jacket defense to a much improved season in 2010 and keeping themselves in the national rankings statistically through the season.

 

Moore racked up a personal-best 17 tackles for loss, which was the fourth-highest total in the PAC. Heading into the final week of the season, he also ranked in the top 30 nationally in that statistic. Moore also led the team and ended up in a tie for fifth place in the PAC with seven sacks.

 

After a solid sophomore campaign, Hunt exploded this past fall. He led the PAC and ended the season ranked in the top 10 of all of Division III with eight interceptions. His 14 passes defended was the second highest total in the conference.

Like Moses, Moore and Hunt were also first-team All-PAC selections.

Tyler Belier, a senior wide receiver from Bridgewater College, was named the region Offensive Player of the Year. Chris Mayes, a junior defensive end from Wesley College, received Defensive Player of the Year laurels, while his coach, Mike Drass, was honored as Coach of the Year.
