WEXFORD, Pa. (Jan. 22) – Waynesburg University boasted a conference-best 49 honorees on the 2009 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Academic Honor Roll, which was released on Friday.
Women’s soccer led the way with a total of 12 honorees, while football followed closely with 11 of its members making the list. Included in the gridiron honorees were senior defensive back Dylan August, senior wide receiver Josh Fisher and senior offensive lineman Todd Shulsky who, earlier in the season, were named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 College Division Teams.
The women’s volleyball team saw nine of their own make the honor roll, while men’s cross country claimed six award-winners. Women’s cross country and men’s soccer had four each, while women’s tennis rounded out the group with three honorees.
Conference-wide, 314 student-athletes earned the honor, including Geneva, which had the second-highest total amount of honorees at 36. Bethany and Thomas More tied for the third-most representatives on the list with 35. Below is how the 10 member schools stacked up:
