Freshman outfielder Rob Cool, Jr. picked up his first collegiate postseason honor by being named a second-team pick to the ECAC Division III South Baseball All-Stars. He was joined by Wes White, Jr., who was a second-team pick.

CENTERVILLE, Mass. (May 27) – Junior second baseman Wes White Jr and sophomore outfielder Rob Cool Jr were both recently honored as members of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Baseball All-Stars.

White continued to add to his long list of postseason accolades when he was named a first-team pick. The outstanding middle infielder has already been lauded as a first-team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) pick, an ABCA All-Mideast second-team pick and an honorable mention selection to the D3Baseball.com All-American Team.

The Pittsburgh native led the Yellow Jackets and set new personal college highs in batting average (.438), slugging percentage (.623), on-base percentage (.536), hits (64), homeruns (3), stolen bases (28) and total bases (91).

He also led the PAC in triples (5) and walks (28), while finishing the regular season tied for fourth in all NCAA Divisions with 1.64 runs scored per game. White’s .438 average was the fourth highest in the conference and his 64 hits ranked him second.

For Cool, it is his first postseason accolade after a stellar debut season with the Jackets. The Clinton, Pa. native was a second-team honoree on the Division III South All-Star Team.

In his freshman year with the Yellow Jackets, Cool tied for second on the team in batting average (.391), led the team in RBI (44) and finished second in stolen bases by swiping eight bags in eight tries. His average and RBI totals also ranked ninth and sixth in the PAC, respectively.

Cool was the only PAC player to be named a second-team honoree. White was joined on the first-team by Grove City catcher Marcus Magister and Westminster first baseman John Izzo. Washington & Jefferson’s Jeff Mountain was named the ECAC Division III South Baseball Coach of the Year.
