Alliance, Ohio (May 19) – For the second-straight season, junior second baseman Wes White Jr was named to the All-Mideast Region Baseball Teams by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

White earned second-team honors after being a first-team pick last season, despite posting numbers that were very comparable to those in his 2008 campaign.

The Pittsburgh native led the Yellow Jackets and set new college highs in batting average (.438), slugging percentage (.623), on-base percentage (.536), hits (64), homeruns (3), stolen bases (28) and total bases (91).

He also led the Presidents’ Athletic Conference in triples (5) and walks (28), while finishing the regular season tied for fourth in all NCAA Divisions with 1.64 runs scored per game.

With this selection, White, who is also a 2009 First-Team All-PAC pick, became the first Yellow Jacket since Eric Holt to be named to the ABCA All-Mideast Region Team in back-to-back seasons. Holt accomplished the feat in 2003 and 2004.

The PAC was well-represented on the All-Mideast Region teams, as seven players representing five different teams were honored as first, second or third-team selections.
