WEXFORD, Pa. (Apr. 27) – After batting over .600 this past week, sophomore Bill Hanning won his first Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Batter of the Week Award on Monday.

The Claysville native hit .688 over the four games played last week, with two homeruns, six runs scored and eight RBI. Hanning, who played designated hitter and first base during the Yellow Jackets’ 2-2 stretch, had his most success in three games against PAC rival Thomas More.

Over three games played against the Saints on Apr. 24 and 25, he sported an impressive .818 average.

For the week, Hanning enjoyed a 1.063 slugging percentage and a .722 on-base percentage.

Hanning is the second Yellow Jacket to win the conference award, joining second baseman Wes White Jr, who has picked up the award twice this season.

Waynesburg, which dropped a home contest to Grove City on Monday, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, when they host a doubleheader with Penn State-Altoona.
