WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 13) – After guiding the Yellow Jacket football team to a 38-17 win over Thiel back on Saturday, Nov. 7, junior quarterback Brad Dawson was named the Waynesburg University Athlete of the Week.

Nick Garber
Wrestling
Garber beat some of the best Division III wrestlers in the country on his way to finishing seventh at this year’s Division III National Wrestling Championships this past weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After losing his opening match, Garber bounced back by beating Paul Marcello of Johns Hopkins 8-7 and picking up a dominating 13-6 upset win over fourth-seeded Sean White of Augsburg. The Waynesburg native then secured seventh place by beating Corey Brown of Thiel 13-6. He also became the school's first wrestling All-American since 2001.
Amanda Baughman
Softball
Baughman drilled a three-run double in the third inning of Waynesburg's 4-2 win over Trine to break up a scoreless tie and give the Jackets a 3-0 lead. When she was in the field, the native of Washington, Pa. allowed just two hits and a walk, while picking up a pair of strikeouts.
