Women's cross country competes at PAC Championships
Led by freshman Megan Donovan, Jackets pick up fifth-place finish

LATROBE, Pa., (Oct. 31) – The Waynesburg University women’s cross country team finished in fifth place out of eight schools in today’s Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship 6K race.

 

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Megan Donavan, who finished in 11th place among 67 total runners with a time of 25:28. Sophomore Michelle Naymick was the next highest finisher for the Jackets with a time of 26:19, good for 16th place.

 

Senior Janet Carson rounded out the top three finishing spots for the Jackets with a 26th place finish and a time of 27:23.

 

Grove City won their 21st-straight team championship after three of their runners claimed the top three individual spots. The top two finishers from Grove City, Sara Fisher and Ella Smith, ended their runs identically with a time of 23:24.

The final event of the 2009 season for the Jacket women will be the NCAA Mideast Regionals on Nov. 14 at Lehigh University.
