Yellow Jackets listed on national team and individual rankings

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 29) – The Waynesburg University wrestling team was listed in the BRUTE – ADIDAS National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III preseason team rankings that were released on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The Yellow Jackets earned the number 26 spot on the rankings, which is two spots higher than when they were ranked 28th by the NWCA at the end of the 2008-09 season.

Juniors Nick Garber and Corbin Semple also received individual rankings at their respective weight classes. Garber was ranked sixth at 141 pounds, which was the same spot that Semple was given at 197 pounds.

Both wrestlers received the honor after winning NCAA Division III Midwest Region Championships last season and qualifying for the national tournament, where they each came just one win shy of All-American status.
