MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Oct. 20) – Freshman defensive lineman Matt Krause was named to the D3football.com team of the week on Tuesday after enjoying a very successful collegiate debut as a starter.
After seeing time as a reserve earlier this season, Krause got his first shot as a starter against Geneva this past Saturday. He responded by racking up a game-high 12 tackles, with six of the hits being solo stops. He also recorded two tackles for loss and a sack.
Krause was just one of just 27 players to be named to this D3football.com team of the week. However, he is the second Yellow Jacket to receive the honor this season, as junior quarterback Brad Dawson was lauded by the national website on Sept. 16.

Krause, Dawson and the rest of the Yellow Jackets return to John F. Wiley Stadium this Saturday, when they host Bethany in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest.
