WEXFORD, Pa. (May 12) – Waynesburg University sophomore second baseman
Wes White Jr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Perry) earned a first-team all-conference selection by the league coaches, announced the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) on Monday afternoon.
White was an offensive catalyst for the Yellow Jackets this year, while making a smooth transition to second base after playing shortstop as a freshman. He led the team and ranked fourth in the conference with a .432 batting average (60-for-139), while leading the league with seven triples. White also ranked among the conference leaders with 60 hits, a .509 on-base percentage and 21 stolen bases.
The Pittsburgh native collected 17 extra-base hits (10 doubles, seven triples), scored 39 runs, drove in 23 runs, drew 18 walks and posted a team-best .604 slugging percentage from the leadoff spot. In the field, White turned a team-best 19 double plays while registered a .975 fielding percentage on 162 chances.
Grove City senior outfielder Brian Moran earned PAC Most Valuable Player honors, while the Wolverines' Rob Skaricich was named PAC Coach of the Year.
