August, Shulsky honored for academic success

Junior football players receive praise from CoSIDA

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 6) – Two Yellow Jacket football players were recently honored for their achievements in the class room as juniors Todd Shulsky and Dylan August were both picked by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as members of the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District College Division Football Teams.

 

Both outstanding student-athletes were chosen as members of the District 2, College Division second team.

 

Shulsky, a starting offensive lineman from Vestaburg, Pa., boasts an impressive 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in finance. He has worked his way into the starting lineup this season at left guard.

 

The third-year lineman is also a two-time member of the PAC Academic Honor Roll.

 

August, another first-year starter, has maintained a 3.77 GPA while pursuing a degree in secondary education/english, while starting all seven games at safety before suffering an injury.

 

Like Shulsky, the Bethel Park, Pa. native is also a two-time member of the PAC Academic Honor Roll.

 

The pair of Jackets was part of a group of seven Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) athletes who were named to the District 2, College Division second team. Five other PAC players were honored as first-team picks, and Thomas More boasted an honoree in District 4.

 

Waynesburg is gearing up for a PAC showdown at Thiel College this Saturday.
