Waynesburg keeper Brad Davis was recently honored by CoSIDA and ESPN the Magazine for his academic and athletic excellence.

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 30) – Senior goalkeeper Brad Davis received a prestigious academic honor on Thursday when he was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District men's soccer teams.

The award was voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Albert Gallatin graduate was a first-team selection under District Two’s college division. The division includes nationally-renowned institutions like Carnegie Mellon and Johns Hopkins.

Davis, a senior chemistry-forensic chemistry major from McClellandtown, Pa., currently sports a 3.96 cumulative grade point average (GPA), while also starting eight of the nine games that he has appeared in for the Jackets men’s soccer team.

Davis joins Westminster’s Chris Ellwanger as the only first-team selections in the division out of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC). Washington and Jefferson and Grove City added representatives on the second team.

The Jacket men wrap up their regular season on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they host Washington and Jefferson.
